The 10 days are on foot out of total 16 days trip. Usually 6 to 7 hours of walking included in a day. 4x4 accompanied hiking whenever possible. The program itinerary is given as indication suggestion. The steps can be changed on site due to weather, safety, flight times or any unexpected event. In these difficult times, the local guide will do anything to mitigate the effects of these events beyond our control.
Possible places to visit:
- The monastery Erdenezuu to Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of the empire during the 16th century
- The crossing on foot with the nomads,
- The mountains of Khangai,
- Blue lakes Naiman-Nuur,
- Orkhon river,
- The dunes of Baruun Bayan Ulaan,
- Monastery of Tuvkhun,
Day 1: Home country - Ulaanbaatar.
Flight to Ulaanbaatar with stopover by Aeroflot or Turkish Airline.
Day 2: Ulaanbaatar.
Arrival in Ulaanbaatar. Welcomed at the airport by our guide and transfer to the hotel. On the way to the hotel, our guide will present the course during the stay and check into the rooms. Rest for a while at the hotel, and then visit Gandan Monastery, National History Museum, and Bogd Khan Winter Palace etc.
The monastery of Gandan was restored in the 1990s, its original name can be translated as "Great place of complete joy." Currently, there are hundreds of them monks who live there. It contains a statue of Megjid- Janraiseg about 26.5 meters high. This temple is undeniably one of the highlights of this trip. The faithful and pilgrims make it their duty to feed the pigeons in the monastery and in thanks, they spattered the monuments of the sanctuary
Day 3: Ulaanbaatar - Karakorum.
Departure in the morning with 4x4 across the steppe to the village of Kharkhorin, which is an ancient capital of Mongolia during the 16th century. Meet our guides and horses for a superb route. Stay in ger camp
Day 4: Visit monastery Erdenezuu - Belchir
Visit the monastery of Erdenezuu. And head to mountain Khukh Davaa beyond the Orkhon River and meeting with the team and carts pulled by yaks that carry the luggage. Hiking in the valley of Urtiin Am populated by nomads. 6.5 hours of trekking. Bivouac
Day 5: The Temeen Khuzuut Valley
Walk through the Temeen Khuzuut Valley. Discover the life of the nomads. Watching traditional horse training sessions. 7 hours of trekking. Bivouac
Day 6: Lake Gezeg Burd
Downhill through a valley dotted with headstones and climb to the lake Gezeg Burd. 6.5 hours trekking. Bivouac.
Day 7: Maaniin Hill - Tuvkhun
Crossing the Maaniin hill. Bivouac before reaching the monastery Tuvkhun. 5.5 hours of trekking. Bivouac.
Day 8: Monastery Tovkhon
In the morning, descent to Tuvkhun National Park. Climb to the monastery where we will enjoy a panoramic view down the valley Aguitiin Khundii. 6.5 hours of trekking. Bivouac on the banks of the Orkhon River.
Day 9: Orkhon Waterfall
Walk to the Orkhon waterfall with 4x4. Meet our new team of guides for the rest of the hike. 6 hours of trekking. Bivouac.
Day 10: Khangai Mountains
A sublime crossing the mountains head us to the famous eight lakes Khuisiin Naiman Nuur. During this walk, we cross a larch forests and other conifers before returning to the neck of Khangai Nuuruu back down to the lakes. Total 7 hours of trekking. Bivouac.
Day 11: Lakes Khuisiin Naiman Nuur
Continue to walk the national park and arrive at the lake. Visit nomadic families and meets with a virgin and rich nature. 7 hours of trekking. Bivouac.
Day 12: Lake Shireet
Hike to the Shireet Lake, which is one of the finest in the region. Shireet is the deepest and largest of the lakes in Naiman Nuur, it covers an area of 10 km² and rich in fish and is surrounded by several nomadic settlements. The nature of the rocky terrain around will be ideal for hiking. 6 hours of trekking. Bivouac.
Day 13: End of the hike to Shuranga
Continue by a beautiful valley where mix multicolored volcanic hills and lush meadows. Arrive at Shuranga we expect our vehicles. 7 hours of trekking. Bivouac
Day 14: The dunes of Bayan-Gobi
4x4, we reach the village and dunes Uyanga Bayan-Gobi to continue to Ulaanbaatar. Here, we are really at the heart of the deep Mongolia. This desert is located at the junction of three major ecosystems known in Mongolia: the great mountain ranges of the country, Khangai and Khentii plus a forward edge of the Gobi desert. Bivouac.
Day 15: Ulaanbaatar
Drive back to the Ulaanbaatar. This day will be free day and continuation of the sight seeing the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar. You can enjoy traditional performance and shows that are regularly organized in the evening in some rooms or restaurants.
Day 16: Ulaanbaatar - Home country.
